Part One allows the participant to:
- Have a greater understanding of the stages of grief and how these may present themselves in school
- Know how to implement a critical incident plan
- Feel more confident supporting children, parents and staff
Part Two
- This training will equip participants to be able to deliver a 6 week bereavement programme to groups of children or young people with all resources being provided. It will enable students to
- Process the circumstances or event within the context of the child/young person’s developmental ability
- Understand the concepts of grief
- Identify and Understand Feelings and Behaviours associated with a normal grief response –
- Identify and practise healthy ways to cope
- Honouri the relationship and establish continuing bonds
- Identify how to access their own support system
